Just to keep you informed about new stories and recent publications, and point you in the direction of even more juicy stuff to come.
I recently got published in issue #4 of Omenana, a nouveau African speculative fiction magazine, born and bred right here in the heartland. Alongside my sci-fi story, Breaking The Habit in that issue, you’ll find other stories by ‘Pemi Aguda, Edwin Okolo, Mayowa Kolesho, Adanze Asante and Mandisi Nkomo running the gamut from science fiction and magical realism to horror and fantasy. Breaking The Habit is witty and light-hearted in delivery, yet manages to pass across a message that has a bit of a grim aftertaste. You can read that issue HERE. Better yet, download the cool pdf magazine HERE.
In October 2015, I’ll be the only African published in the maiden/inaugural issue of Mothership Zeta, an American speculative fiction magazine from speculative podcast publishers, Escape Artists. My story, Places, will be making its publishing debut there. Joy all around. Here’s what associate editor, Sunil Patel, had to say about Places:
“We think Places will challenge people’s ideas of what our magazine is about. In the midst of many light-hearted funny stories, here is something layered and dark, warm yet strangely bittersweet. Also, I’m here for kids with superpowers.”
Keep up and cross your fingers with the mothership HERE.
Also, ShortSharpShot will release the pilot copy of their digital magazine in a few weeks. My stories, The Izobo Raid and Oversight will be making a reprint appearance in this. Sweet, eh? See ShortSharpShot HERE.
